The Foundation

An institution built on a life of service.

The Aidah Kugonza Foundation preserves a legacy and advances community health in Kashangura Parish and beyond. This page sets out who we are, what we stand for, and how we are governed.

Vision

A community where every mother and child receives compassionate, dignified and skilled care — and where the wisdom of community health workers is honoured and sustained.

Mission

To preserve the legacy of Aidah Kugonza and continue her work through maternal and child health programmes, youth empowerment and community-owned health initiatives.

Values

Compassion. Integrity. Community. Excellence. Faith. Stewardship. We answer every knock — at every hour.

Objectives

What we set out to achieve.

  • Preserve and document the life, work and methods of the late Aidah Kugonza.
  • Strengthen maternal and child health services in Kashangura Parish.
  • Recognise, train and equip traditional birth attendants.
  • Mentor youth into nursing, midwifery and allied health careers.
  • Establish community-owned infrastructure: palliative care home, ambulance, outreach.
  • Build partnerships with government, NGOs, faith institutions and donors.
Governance

How we are structured.

An independent board provides oversight, safeguards the mission and approves strategy and budgets.

Family Stewards

Aidah's children serve as custodians of the legacy and sit on the Foundation council.
